Today, on October 17th, 2012, just 5 days after Hailey’s 1st month birthday, Hailey achieved  a major milestone.

While this week was that of her first medical appointment, when we found out that she had grown nearly an inch and put on a full 2lbs (a 28% increase over her birth weight), these feats were not nearly as monumental as what was noticed tonight.

No, tonight was a special night.  It marked the end of a trend that we had naively hoped would last a lifetime.  It marked the last time in which a routine activity would be preformed without discomfort.  It is, in a sense, the end of an era of innocence.

Yes, tonight was the night where both her mother and I noticed for the first time that our baby’s poop actually stinks.  Diaper changes will never be the same.
